New Human Body Society

TheSociety

Critical AI theory and XR practice.

New Human Body Society is the ensemble around artist and choreographer Charlotte Triebus, organised as a registered association (e.V.). It brings together dancers, costume, lighting and set designers, musicians, and developers from the MIREVI Lab at Hochschule Düsseldorf. Its works also involve robots, intelligent systems and horses.

At the intersection of dance, art and technology, the Society connects choreographic practice and theoretical research. It investigates the acting body, agency and queer identity relations: how bodies are perceived and interpreted, how they act on one another, and how human and artificial agents share a space. Artistic research, technological experimentation and development are integral to this practice.

Drawing on ethics and gender studies, the ensemble examines the norms and political structures embedded in technological systems. Its work considers digital change through questions of responsibility, power and participation, and insists on artistic and social possibilities beyond commercial interests.
